This week, Mainline senior music editor Autumn James and I came together to record our first ever podcast episode. Not sure how we managed to go almost three years without doing one together, but alas, here we are and time is a construct.
We talk about our experiences at Mainline and how we’ve changed as people + creators, the individual and collective internal quest for autonomy and authenticity, the “spiritual renaissance,” the shift from consuming culture to creating it, and how all of that is being reflected back to us through music, art, and journalism.
Look out for Autumn’s music documentary debut about local indie band Balkans, whose 10-year anniversary release via Double Phantom Records launched this week. We’ll be publishing the doc on Mainline’s YouTube as well as share here, IG, and newsletter.
ICYMI—Mainline is under construction, as we announced on IG this week, meaning this Patreon is the only portal under which we are creating content for the time being. Not sure how long the construction period will last, and I’m excited to spend more time here as I focus on Mainline’s sustainability and development.
Thanks to everyone here donating monthly to sustain our efforts and supporting our dreams for new local journalism in ATL. Every dollar is going to continued labor and office expenses while we continue to build.
