The first post didn’t post the audio for some reason?? This one works.
Quick-ish check-in from me regarding some changes happening at the magazine (all good things!) and what that means for me in my role specifically. I’m going to be running the Patreon and will be more present than I have been since we started it, as I’m being relieved of many responsibilities in the day-to-day operations of the mag (YESSSSSSSSSSS—I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time!). Shout out to comrades Jess Izard, Sylvia Johnson, Chelsea Stone, and Autumn James for becoming what is now Mainline’s core team. I wouldn’t want to be journeying with anyone else.
I’ve stepped off Mainline’s social media FORREALFORREAL as of a couple weeks ago. Follow me on IG @ajersatl and Twitter @soundslikeasia if you want, but this Patreon is where I’ll be pouring my creation energy moving forward.
Not gonna lie, this year has been hard AF and I’m still recovering from many things that have happened. Thank you to everyone here for being part of my foundation of resilience, which I could not summon on my own. I would have given up by now if it weren’t for reminders and support coming from every direction in community to keep going. I’m grateful things are beginning to shift at Mainline for us to become more sustainable and I look forward to helping more people find empowerment and resilience, particularly fellow r*pe and gendered violence/rape culture survivors. We’re all in this together.
With love,
Aja
