Hey patrons!
Our producer, Rara, is editing an abridged version of this panel to roll out in our podcast and on the radio – but we felt like we wanted to drop this extended, full cut of our recent panel with you all to enjoy.
This past Saturday, as a part of the Stop Cop City week of action, we co-organized a panel with Community Movement Builders at Neighborhood Church. The panel was entitled “Abolitionist media & the Atlanta Way,” where we discussed the tenets of abolitionist media, how the Atlanta Way functions from a media perspective, and how we can use media to disrupt corporatized media and systemic oppression.
Panelists were Jasmine Burnett (Community Movement Builders), Kamau Franklin (Community Movement Builders), Julian Rose (Atlanta writer and organizer), Aja Arnold (Mainline), and Steven Donziger (human rights attorney). The panel was beautifully moderated by V Starks of Press On Southern media collective and Community Movement Builders.
Enjoy! Let us know what you think in the comments.
With gratitude,
Mainline
